This is a series of hands-on, practical subjects where students demonstrate creativity and independence in a variety of life situations. It allows students to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to effectively select and use appropriate technological resources, materials, systems, tools and equipment to design and create products and offer services.
Students from Year 7 to12 are welcome and invited to participate in various courses on offer within the Food, Textiles and Childcare environment.
Year 7 and 8
Students complete a semester of Food and Textiles Technology. This is a taster course which introduces the study of nutrition and use of fabrics. The highlight of this course is an opportunity to design and make their own breakfast, based on the Healthy Eating Pyramid and its food groups. Students also design and make a shopping bag to demonstrate sustainability and to learn basic skills in sewing.
Year 9 and 10
Students have an option to study a subject of their choice for a semester. Subject selection includes:

- International Foods and Technology
- Textiles Technology
- Childcare
Year 10
- Café Culture
- Childcare
- Fashion and Textiles Technology
YEAR 11 and 12
Students have the opportunity to further their interests in Food Science and Technology (General) or Hospitality.
Courses offered are:
Year 11 and 12 General Food Science and Technology
Year 11 and 12 Certificate II Hospitality
Certificate II: courses are VET qualifications recognized by both TAFE and Industry.
