The Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) state competition run by the Maths Association of Western Australia (MAWA) involves students working like a mathematician on a problem that is of interest to them. They are typically required to research, design, explore, create, question, articulate, communicate, solve problems and collaborate. Fremantle College students have been very successful in 2020 and achieved four Credits and four Distinctions. In addition, Zoe from Year 7 was awarded a High Distinction for her project entitled “Dinosaur Run”Her submission was selected by MAWA to represent Year 7 in WA in the MTQ National Competition.
This week Zoe was announced as the Year 7 National Winner and was presented with a trophy and certificate. This is an amazing achievement and was well supported by her parents and Maths teacher, Ms Abel. Congratulations, Zoe!
