Primo Lux is an annual anthology of the best poetry written by students in Years 10 – 12 from across Western Australia. This year, Shalorna Dykman-Mippy in Year 10, has not only had her poem The Lost Girl published in Primo Lux, but she also won 3rd prize. This prize placement was decided upon by a judging panel, which included representatives from the English Teachers’ Association and WA Poet Inc.
Shalorna gave a sensitive reading of her poem in front of an audience of contributors, families and teachers at Clancy’s Fish Pub last night, before being awarded her prize by Perth-based poet, Chris Arnold.
We are all very excited to follow Shalorna’s future poetry and creative writing.
