Fremantle College’s Performing Arts Academy offers a focus on musical theatre, developing student skills in singing, drama and music, and specialist teaching staff immerse participants in a program that improves confidence and poise in overall performance.
Fremantle College provides the opportunity for your child to grow and flourish in their skills and understanding of the Performing Arts through acceptance into our Performing Arts Academy.
With a focus on Musical Theatre, the Academy uses an experiential approach to encourage and develop its students through dedicated lessons in singing, drama, and music, culminating in regular public performances. Your child will have access to state of the art facilities including the Calvert Music Centre and the purpose built Performing Arts Theatre.
Students will receive tuition in a range of practical and theoretical areas including music theory and knowledge, history and analysis of the musical genre, movement, character and theatrical performance skills. Sessions to extend students’ knowledge and skills consist of vocal master classes and production rehearsals, scheduled in the lead up to performances.
The Performing Arts Academy provides an exciting, vibrant and professional environment where your child can grow personally and socially through ongoing participation in performance. Students can further their study of music into Senior School and be supported to gain auditions and entrance to tertiary institutions such as the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
